Associate Professor in fish biology The research group for genetics at the Norwegian College of Fishery Science (NCFS), UiT The Arctic University of Norway (in beautiful Tromsø), seeks a motivated, collaborative, and ambitious scientist for a permanent position as Associate professor in fish biology. The position is a part of a strategic commitment to strengthen the capacity for aquaculture related research at NCFS/UiT.
We seek a candidate in the intercept between genetics, fish biology and immunology. The candidate is expected to have expertise in two or more of the mentioned disciplines, related to Norwegian aquacultured and wild fish species in larger perspectives, such as:
1) Effects of climate change
2) Biodiversity
3) Host pathogen interaction
Responsibilities also include teaching fish biology, supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, and contribution to educational outreach and dissemination, at UiT and to the industry and society in general.
Qualification requirements: Doctoral degree related to fishes within either: biology, genetics, veterinary medicine or molecular biology, and scientific merits beyond this. You must have acquired basic competence for teaching and supervision at higher education level. This includes basic skills in planning, conducting, evaluating and developing teaching and guidance.
