2nd Central European Wetland Fish Workshop, October 2026

Dear colleagues,

Following the successful events of 2025—the workshop in Tihany organised by Peter (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19ywHAdXyM/) and the conference in Vienna organised by Josef (https://www.uibk.ac.at/limno/research/events/muddywaters/ and https://aca.pensoft.net/collection/580/)—we would like to keep the group active and encourage further collaboration on shared initiatives, scientific ideas, manuscripts, projects, and more. As suggested last year, we would like to maintain this momentum and organise another event in Vodňany, Czechia.

We would like to propose a two-day event, with participants arriving the day before. Accommodation will be available at the event venue (30 places): https://www.mevpis.cz/en/services/accommodation-3

The current plan is to dedicate one day for muddy fish studies, conservation, and projects, while the second day will focus more broadly on bibliometric and review studies, ideas, and perspectives, some of which were presented in Tihany.
