NFDI4Biodiversity is a consortium under the umbrella of the National Research Data Infrastructure dedicated to the collaborative use of biodiversity and environmental data.
Mission Statement
Around 50 partners, including scientific institutions, museums, natural history societies, state offices and other institutes and expert groups, are pooling their scientific and technical expertise to provide a broad portfolio of services for handling biodiversity and environmental data.
The collaboration is guided by the knowledge that stakeholders from science, politics, nature conservation and landscape management need reliable data in order to make better contributions to the preservation of biodiversity.
Together, the consortium partners offer the following added value:
- Access to modern technologies and a comprehensive inventory of biodiversity and environmental data.
- Practical and tried-and-tested methods and tools for archiving, publishing, searching and analysing data.
- A specialist forum for the secure and competent handling of data that is to be used in a broad and responsible manner.
