Peces Criollos – Freshwater Fishes of Argentinia
A project by GfI member Stefan Koerber
The aim of this page is to provide a constantly updated list of freshwater fish from Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay for the ichthyological community and anyone else who may be interested.
PecesCriollos is based on the following national fauna lists:
- Argentina: Mirande & Koerber (2020): CLOFFAR-2
- Paraguay: Koerber, Vera-Alcaraz & Reis (2017): CLOFPY
- Uruguay: Litz & Koerber (2014): CLOFFUY.
All systematic changes published since then will be incorporated into www.pecescriollos.de as soon as possible.
Regular updates will be provided at regular intervals. Both the original lists and the latest updates are available in the ‘Lists & Updates’ section.
When new entries are added, previous entries will disappear from the news bar on the right-hand side. However, you can still find them under “Countries & Species” as national “News”. Under “A-Z” for each country, you will find all entries that have a link in the published lists or updates, some dating back to 2003.
After 17 years, PecesCriollos had to be migrated to a new platform and a new layout. Some features could not be retained, while others, such as the search function, were added.
