Scientific contributions
Participation in the conference is possible with or without a scientific contribution. Scientific contributions are to be in the form of presentations and posters. Presentations and posters may be in GERMAN or ENGLISH.
Each presentation will be allocated a time slot of 20 minutes (15 minutes for the presentation plus 5 minutes for discussion). If more presentations are submitted than there are time slots available, the conference organisers reserve the right to request that submitted presentations be converted into poster contributions.
Please bring your posters printed in A0 format.
For presentations and posters, please submit an abstract in PDF format with a maximum of 300 words (excluding title, authors and affiliations, no images or references).
Photography during the conference
Upon registration, we request your consent to the data protection regulations (mandatory) and the regulations on the use of photographs (preset as consenting, but can be actively deselected). Photos will be used exclusively for the external presentation of the GfI (e.g. on the GfI website).
Conference fees
- Students with GfI membership: €40.00
- Students without GfI membership: €60.00
- GfI members: €80.00
- Participants without GfI membership: €100.00
The conference fees include:
- Snacks and drinks during the conference
- Participation in the social evening (including food and drinks)
- Abstract booklet
The conference fees must be paid upon registration by 1 October 2026 at the latest. Cash payment on site is not possible. Please transfer the fee to the account of the Gesellschaft für Ichthyologie e.V. (German Ichthyological Society) with the reference ‘Conference fees GfI 2026’ at Deutsche Skatbank: IBAN: DE28 8306 5408 0004 1996 42 | BIC: GENODEF1SLR
The status of ‘student’ applies at the time of registration. Bachelor’s and Master’s students as well as doctoral students are considered students. Please upload proof of status when registering.
Cancellation
Cancellation of fees in case of non-participation is free of charge until 1 October.
After that date, no refunds are possible.
